Data shows that youth using vaping products has nearly doubled since the late 2000s & this is troubling given the health concerns linked with vaping. We are leading the way in protecting children & families, while also making corporate wrongdoers take accountability for the public harms they cause.

For too long, vape & e-cigarette manufacturers have used deceptive marketing to maximize profits at the expense of people’s health. Today’s announcement on our first-of-its-kind legislation will make it possible for us to take legal action against bad-faith actors to recover public health costs.

It is time we shift the blame from the victim to the perpetrators of sexual violence. With my recommendation to to set the new ceiling at $75,000 - 14 times higher than the current limit - our government is creating new ways for victims to get the justice they deserve for the harms they’ve endured.
