GORGEOUS. I would probably knit it a good deal longer as I would look like a cube in something that short.
I need to start spinning! It took me quite a while to drop-spin, dye and knit this EXTREEEEEMELY basic jumper, which weighs about 500gm. I guess I need 2x as much for something with sleeves.

#Glasgow or nearby followers only: I am clearing out my old maths, physics and engineering text books.
FREE to anyone who can use them - a student perhaps. Collect in person from Cathcart or the city centre. Ideally all to go to the one recipient.

Living in Scotland, I find the title of the final part a bit on the condescending side.......

Just been alerted to this intriguing article about South African women #radar operators in #WW2. I hope the guy gets his book published.

This is the one I covet. No image ever found but believed to have been brooches as personal gifts to all the ladies, from Lady Beardmore.

I am excited to be able to report that the tiny book I started researching in November is now at the proofing stage.

I had hoped to use Lulu this time but there was some glitch I just couldnt get past so unfortunately I am back with the evil empire.

Daisy, you should have the EAW and the Women's Gas Federation articles. If not, just let me know.
The best efforts came to no more than below, as the EAW archives are very patchy.

The outcome of a lot of spinning and some dyeing.
The wool came from Romney Marsh (URL in ALT) as carded toppings but I spun it all with a drop spindle.
The pale greenish blue of the rolled neck is from salt-dyed home-grown woad leaves. The darker blues are from bought indigo.
