I’ve changed my view on the horseshoe as well. I don’t think the alt left is far left anymore I think they’re true centrists. Civil Rights is the most fundamental progressive issue in American history and they don’t see that so we’re to the left of them. They also reject Critical Race Theory.
I used to think of the horseshoe as a process, but I've started to think of the far right & left as sharing a similar personality trait to start with - the conviction that they have the right to force their fantasy of how the world should be on everybody else.
