And what really sucks, is because our management kept giving him an extension- because up to that point, we'd been outstanding tenants for years. So by the time we were facing eviction, he didn't just owe ONE month, he owed several.

My dad (widower) got caught up in a romance scam and kept giving the scammer our rent money. Almost rendered us homeless over and over. I had to grab him and look him in the eye and tell him he's choosing a fantasy over his children's safety- and it's like it never even occurred to him.
