As much as I don't like to add vinegar/salad dressing to my salad greens, I just learned that the vinegar kills some bacteria in our fresh salad greens. Which is helpful for digestion and preventing bowel cancer.

🧵 THREAD: A federal whistleblower just dropped one of the most disturbing cybersecurity disclosures I’ve ever read.

Fresh raw produce that is safe to eat, was already a hard problem even with an FDA.

Being vegan with an intact FDA was being a vegan on *easy mode*.

You could roast vegetables instead of just boiling the hell out of them, not worry too much about getting salmonella or listeria from fresh oranges

The FDA was literally created because in the 1880s, milk sellers were thinning milk with chalk, cow brains, and formaldehyde to make more money. Like milk specifically was a main driving force behind the creation of the FDA.

Previous to the FDA, folks would put chalk and plaster of Paris in milk to make it appear white. They could also add formaldehyde to cover the smell and taste of spoiled milk.
