My god. It's full of stars.

This sparkling #JWST stellar scene is Westerlund 2, a young star cluster only a few million years old and containing some of the hottest, most massive stars known.

Westerlund 2 is situated within the Gum 29 stellar nursery, and is around 20,000 lightyears from home.

A story I found about Haiti:

In 1999, a group of Haitians were tired of political disorder and dreamed of a better life in the United States. So they built a small, 23-foot boat by hand using pine trees, scrap wood, and used nails. They called the boat "Believe in God."

Another beautiful image from #JWST, this one showing the aftermath of a collision between two dwarf galaxies.

The two bright concentrations of stars are left and right with gas and stars forming a thick filament between the two.

The collision formed new stars—the blue regions throughout the scene.

This is part of our universe.

An area of sky about the size of a grain of sand held at arm's length.

The spiked features are stars in the Milky Way.

EVERYTHING ELSE IS A GALAXY.

These are shells of dust coming off a pair of tightly bound stars, newly imaged by #JWST.

There is such beauty in the universe.

This is what Jupiter looks like in the infrared.

Its hot, lower atmosphere shining through the cooler cloud layers above.

You show me Jupiter and I'll show you a planet that wants you dead.

Seeing some beautiful photos of aurorae tonight, so here's a reminder that other planets get them, too!

This is Saturn, with aurorae visible at both poles in this UV image from Hubble's Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph, taken in October 1997 when the planet was 1.3 billion km away.

Unblinking.
