Cov exile in East Mids dreaming of France #pusb
Just along the A17, Newark finally got its act together on its derelict ex-brewery buildings and created some desirable properties just 80 mins from Kings Cross.

@tim-burgess.bsky.social I had an appointment in France today about getting my residency sorted out. They had a cool arts mag from 2022 in the waiting area with a rather glowing review of your solo album. I need to add this to my collection! Got all The Charlatans stuff, somehow missed this! 😁

I was on a Teams meeting earlier, unaware until almost the end that I was sat underneath a painting. The person I was talking to said they didn't want to mention that I had a red squirrel on my head. 😆

Here's one that's actually quite nice...

There's also the magic shield cast over the Isle of Man... (apparently they're not allowed to have weather warnings or something).

I'm looking for info on this rare print of Samuel Cody's historic first British flight in October 1908. Painted by a French(?) artist in 1978 but I can't decipher the signature. If you have any ideas please get in touch!

I've just realised that I had subconsciously picked up on this bit in the headline and that triggered the Pingu link:

Could this be an indicator that 2025 is going to be my year? I've just peeled open a pack of bacon USING THE TAB. More likely it's all downhill from here...
Happy New Year anyway, everyone.

Apologies to any veggies etc.

I've got some lovely reading material for Christmas plus a bit of music. The old hometown features in the guise of 2-Tone, The Primitives & Mark Robins #pusb but also looking forward to digging into books by non-Cov kids @ottoenglish.bsky.social & @robinince.bsky.social plus some fab SF etc.

I have completed the traditional Christmas Eve task of re-roofing the shed before night falls. Biggest bit of wrapping I've done this Christmas. Anyone else done anything a bit unusual today?

I've said it slightly more crudely 😊

There's a few suggestions out there to show a profile picture. Unfortunately I rarely take a nice selfie so you'll have to make do with a slightly sullen monochrome snap prior to attending a Blues Brothers gig.

The cover definitely counts; it's part of the whole package. I thought long & hard about what I wanted for my cover. See if you can figure out the likely genre & tone...

Looking forward to this chapter...

Christmas is coming & there was a mouse in our house gaining access via a ventilation duct. We called him John McLean. Managed to catch & evict him earlier this week but now realise that we still have Argyle scampering around in the loft.

There are scampering noises in our ceilings & walls. We have a mouse, probably getting in via a ventilation panel somewhere. We're in the run-up to Christmas so obviously we've nick-named him John McLean.

A thousand days of doing French on Duolingo. That's probably around 300 hours. In 5 years of school I did about 400 hours of lessons (maybe, it was a long time ago). Je pense que je suis meilleur à Francais maintenant que quand j'etais à l'ecole. (would never have even attempted that in the past)
