Main reason for moving to BlueSky from Twitter is the same as when someone enters the room you're in and shits on the floor. We can be all disgusted & cross but seeing as it's not actually OUR room we can just go somewhere that doesn't have a turd on the carpet.
@ianmooreauthor.bsky.social this might be incredibly anal of me but perhaps I'm influenced by Richard Ainsworth's character. I've just started Death in le Jardin and it mentions Valerie's Alpine is a V12. But... they were well known for having a V6 engine. It's the same engine as in a DeLorean! ⏱️🚗🔥

@robinince.bsky.social oh my word, I have just had the best laugh at something I have read in a very long time. Cried with laughter which meant I struggled to read it out to my wife. "I'm a Joke & So Are You", the Anxiety Chapter, the special milk dessert reference.
Brilliant stuff.

@tim-burgess.bsky.social I had an appointment in France today about getting my residency sorted out. They had a cool arts mag from 2022 in the waiting area with a rather glowing review of your solo album. I need to add this to my collection! Got all The Charlatans stuff, somehow missed this! 😁

I was on a Teams meeting earlier, unaware until almost the end that I was sat underneath a painting. The person I was talking to said they didn't want to mention that I had a red squirrel on my head. 😆

@realbaddiel.bsky.social thoroughly enjoyed your cycle through France with Hugh, visiting so many of our past holiday destinations (finishing where my now wife & I went on our 1st hol together in 1987). My wife v much identifies with your approach to e-bikes & puddings. I'm more like 'Legs' Dennis.

We have spent the last week moving house, for the first time in nearly 18 years. Looking forward to a nice quiet week back at work because I'm absolutely knackered. At least I've now found my slippers, shaver & clock radio (previously last seen on Wednesday morning).

Currently reading 'The Importance of Being Interested' by @robinince.bsky.social

Great quote early on:
"Books are pliers for the barbed wire with which a dictator wishes to encircle someone's mind"

Nice one Robin, that's a keeper 😊

(Comes just before a bit about David Icke who isn't any more).

I'm looking for info on this rare print of Samuel Cody's historic first British flight in October 1908. Painted by a French(?) artist in 1978 but I can't decipher the signature. If you have any ideas please get in touch!

Could this be an indicator that 2025 is going to be my year? I've just peeled open a pack of bacon USING THE TAB. More likely it's all downhill from here...
Happy New Year anyway, everyone.

Apologies to any veggies etc.

Happy Christmas Matt @mattgreencomedy.com - love the TV advertising ad. Nice one, sir.
Always good to see your face on the telly.

I've got some lovely reading material for Christmas plus a bit of music. The old hometown features in the guise of 2-Tone, The Primitives & Mark Robins #pusb but also looking forward to digging into books by non-Cov kids @ottoenglish.bsky.social & @robinince.bsky.social plus some fab SF etc.

I have completed the traditional Christmas Eve task of re-roofing the shed before night falls. Biggest bit of wrapping I've done this Christmas. Anyone else done anything a bit unusual today?

I think Brennig is either psychic or a time traveller...
Stone me, South Korea! It's like nobody saw this coming. Here's Hurricane, a novel about North Korea attempting to take over South Korea through riots, martial law, and insurrection

Errrrm...

Did you have anything to do with all this coup shenanigans?

Feels like someone in Seoul read the first half of Hurricane, had an idea, acted on it, finished the book & had an instant change of heart.

This is astonishing. Best use of fireworks I've ever seen!
The Moscow puppet government in Georgia decided to attack pro-democracy protestors with water cannons, pepper spray, tear gas, and rubber bullets, the protestors responded with the equivalent of a fireworks mini gun. #georgiaprotests

Well. Frank Lampard it is. I am somewhat underwhelmed by such expensive mediocrity (at best).
Still, maybe his backroom staff know what they're doing. 🤞
