What actually is your argument then? You're saying ICE/DHS has money but the current administration won't pay, but dems should take away funding that was already legally allocated to shut them down, and that the proposed legislation equipping state AGs with means to prosecute is also not helpful?

but this is merely a rhetorical position, rather than a legal plan. I mean, we're all angry as hell, but words need to get put into legal action and I continue to fail to see anything substantive/actionable proposed by doomers other than "slap magical disappear ice button"

I have, and didn't get much from it other than that Ben's argument is overly simplistic (shocker wrt argmin blog). Not to say there isn't substance, but given this isn't my area I would certainly appreciate any references in support of his claims.

Even if a shutdown occurred longer than the brief one that just occurred how would that stop ice from continuing? Did ice pause operations then?
