God, if it actually *is* below $500 I will be sorely tempted. But knowing what their other mid-calf boots go for, I'm not holding my breath. (I love their shoes. I have ... way too many pairs of them. But I also have a bank account that would prefer I loved Fluevog a little less.)

I've avoided most of their boots because my giant honking calves simply won't fit. But these Recruits are low enough that they might. Maybe. If I, you know, should be spending $600 on boots. Which I should not.

An important part of the wisdom that comes with middle age is nailing great nachos. I’ve got “Moroccan” nachos pretty well nailed: chips; a mix of gruyere, white cheddar, and Monterey Jack; canellini beans; lamb merguez with red onion; pico de gallo salsa; green olives, and dabs of harissa paste.

hear me out: what if instead of this, we turned NYT _Connections_ into a US gameshow.

you could even make it so that a few of the rounds expanded the way things could be connected - what comes fourth in a sequence, that sort of thing. Add a buzzer round at the end to keep things exciting.
