Left facing but pragmatic about.

This story would’ve never come out w/o the research, interviews, writing, photography, editing and hard work of trained, experienced journalists. It’s a heartbreaking piece that deserves a read. Subscribe to your local news org and support their work.
In Georgia, a mom facing eviction reached out to DFCS for help. They offered her nothing. Soon the agency took her kids away because of "inadequate housing."

The state then paid *$6,200 a month* to house her kids in foster care.

One of the most important and infuriating stories I read this year:
When Families Need Housing, Georgia Will Pay for Foster Care Rather Than Provide Assistance
In more than 700 cases over five years, Georgia reported inadequate housing as the sole reason for taking a child into foster care, a WABE and ProPublica analysis found. Advocates say it would be chea...

Republicans like to say the term racism is overused but the fact is if it weren't for racism republicans would never win a single seat.

They're out here shamelessly blaming capitalism's bullshit on immigrants and neuro convergent republican voters are lapping it up.

Republicans keep flunking basic math.

China isn’t paying your tariffs — you are. Tariffs = taxes on you the consumer.
Big Pharma isn’t paying you to take meds — down 600%, 700%, — you’re paying them record profits.
“Trump cut the deficit.” He added $7.8 trillion in new debt during his first term.

probably right wing media's greatest accomplishment is convincing people a background loathing of democrats wasn't political.

It's odd how Trump is doing whatever he can to prevent democrats from being able to fix the damage he does to this country, while also ridiculing asylum seekers for not going back to fix the damage to their own countries.

Kavanaugh stops.
Americans have been dragged, tackled, beaten, tased and shot by immigration agents.

They’ve had their necks kneeled on.

They’ve been held outside in the rain while in their underwear.

At least three citizens were pregnant when agents detained them.
More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days.
The government does not track how often immigration agents grab citizens. So ProPublica did. Our tally — almost certainly incomplete — includes people who were held for days without a lawyer. And near...

I am curious about Israel/Palestine updates. Predictably, the story evaporated from "left" wing media after the election but did the conflict?

It says a lot about our country that the FBI had no interest in interviewing Brett Kavanaugh but wants to talk to Mark Kelly.

James Carville, in his NYT Op-ed, says it's time for Democrats to "embrace a sweeping, aggressive, unvarnished, unapologetic, and altogether unmistakable platform of pure economic rage. The most populist platform since the Great Depression."

I can dig it.
