Hope that things are a bit clearer today re the treatment plan and that your daughter (and her OH) can keep their spirits up.

Good morning. ☕ There's something weird going on with searching hashtags - I tried to look through the bloomscrolling hashtag and a few others yesterday and nothing came up at all. Zero results. 🤷‍♀️

The egg sounds an interesting addition. 🤔

Bonjour toots. ☕ Overcast this morning but dry again. Not a bad autumn so far... or is my memory selective? Possibly a beach walk after shopping today. It'll be deserted. Whatever your plans, have a good day. 🤞
Normandie countryside early morning with the sun beginning to light up the valley, treetops and the hills opposite.

Oh, and it makes great oven chips - or made-from-scratch chips. 👍

It's been successful with everything we've tried. This is ours: it did *not* cost us 299€! Cost us about half that, iIrc.

I'm not sure it's useful for a family - main oven is probably still the most practical option. But if you are now cooking for just the two of you I think it makes sense. Does good little puff pastry savouries and sweet things too - home-made chaussons aux pommes, for eg. 🤩

On Roly's recommendation (I think) we have a Ninja 9. We use it to cook small quantities of stuff like chicken portions, sausages, baked potatoes - lots of stuff that doesn't need a full size oven. But we also use the pressure cooker function, use it to make yogurt overnight, dehydrate stuff + + + ❤️

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Today's little video postcard from our travels in Japan, and a spectacular bike ride along the north coast. . It's hard to believe we've been here for 2 weeks, already. The next 4 will fly by youtube.com/shorts/Aybaf...

Lovely accompanying you on your ride. Fabulous scenery tho I wouldn't have been a fan of tunnel cycling. What are the temperatures like? Pleasantly autumnal? Humid?

...and we tested +ve 2 days later. Must have been with them during at least part of our infectious period. Did the HEPA filter (placed about a metre behind their chairs) help? 🤷‍♀️ Can't prove it, of course but it feels like active risk management.

I'm sure it isn't. But I'm sure it is a sensible precaution / mitigation, particularly in less-well ventilated areas. Last autumn, OH & I developed Covid while we had elderly guests for 10 days, both in their 80s. We had breakfast with them each day. We only had symptoms on the day they left... >

The reluctance of people to apply precautions *effectively* must be a real worry and infuriating for you. 😕

We have a HEPA filter + fans in our (very airy) kitchen so when we do have friends for drinks or a meal, I feel I'm doing my best to mitigate the risks for us & them. My kitchen is better managed than most public places. 🤦

I haven't had a cold since 2019... what looked like a 2024 cold was Covid.

I would mask in hospitals etc and always mask if I see someone else masking as I assume they are either ill or vulnerable. We don't eat out or go to crowded indoor events. I choose & balance the risks but I don't kid myself the risks aren't real.

Bonkers, isn't it. 🤦 I do not understand the mentality that believes Covid 2025 is not as dangerous as the Covid of 2020... espec if you are not boosted. And we're all 5 years older and therefore potentially more vulnerable.

I don't mask in shops now but do go early and don't dawdle. >

Yeahbutt... we just have to look at how many Le Pen voters there are in our areas... and unfortunately, there are far too many here.
