Mob Prince Lecce did a ton of harm to kids, cutting school budgets by $1Billion meant no IEPs to help kids work through tough pandemic conditions and socialization.

the prep and stress incurred by the teachers and then the kids was ridiculous! and it made no difference
if they just were allowed to TEACH, it would have been much better …the parents were encouraged to make snacks and breakfast, told how the prep was going…just so stupid

Boards, superintendents, and principals pretty much make prepping for it a ten month activity.
So many other activities that make school an engaging place for kids are sacrificed on the altar of EQAO.

And it causes so many issues with split classes. I remember a teacher telling me she couldn’t give my gr 5 kid at the time extra help with math bc she was prepping the gr 6s for EQAO

Absolutely. Teachers have no choice but to spend weeks if not months teaching to the test.

Students with a disability will never show their true levels of knowledge in these types of tests. Even kids without disabilities, the anxiety of this test destroys kids each year. The worst part is they lose out on critical knowledge absorption bc so much time is spent prepping.

wasn’t EQAO created and supported by CONS in the Fraser institute to make public education look bad and try to divert monies to private systems? EQAO does nothing IMO: in small, rural towns, what happens after the scores comes out? nothing…we don’t get more funding, more arts programs etc

EQAO is already suuuuper problematic as a way to determine student ability and now this?! It’s terrifying what this govt is doing to education.
