If you're referring to Rosa Luxemberg and Karl Liebknecht, that was completely unconnected to the German elections that Hitler ran in, because it was a full fucking decade before he even joined launched his putsch.

In order to be appointed Chancellor, you have to be elected and the leader of the largest party in the Reichstag.
Hitler was elected to his seat and was the leader of the Nazi Party which was the largest party in the Reichstag. The rest is semantic nitpicking.
