I don't know who needs to hear this, but opposing GenAI is not about opposing technology, it's about opposing capitalists.

There was one moment that emotionally stood out in Avatar 3. Its the one where the blinded tulkun, last of her tribe, laments that her people's songs which lasted for centuries are doomed. It makes me think of my own native ancestry and the way colonialism has destroyed so much of our culture.

TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:

I'm preaching to the choir here, but family should have to earn your respect and place in your life just the same as anybody else. They don't get a free pass or more grace just because you happen to be born into the same group of people.

Att höra Maria Stenergard (UM) prata om Israel och Gaza så påminner det bara om varför det är svårt att ta #tidöpolitiker på allvar. Det är tomma ord om att regeringen klart gör fantastiskt mycket men inga konkreta exempel. Och blir det svårt är plötsligt förra regeringens agerande viktigare.
