unfortunately they will do that no matter what

I do not believe they are mutually exclusive, plenty great games from old assets. Many games take 5-10 years of dev time and I think thats way too long, even for those working on it

if your worry is oversaturation, then I agree there. But I don't think we need to push for bigger and shinier so much

Fallout New Vegas, Majora's Mask, ER Nightreign, and so many games that are just mods of other games proves you can make something great out of things that are already made

we don't NEED bright new shiny things to make great art, it's okay

I personally believe if we want to try and dress up using AI gen to "speed up production" as if that is the real concern, we should instead be more okay with reusing already existing assets made by actual humans, rather than generating from a pool of stolen assets at a massive energy cost

100% there's a difference between artistic vision and consumer interests

I would even say they weren't wrong for wanting to streamline the dev process, less work needed to make more games is good. but how we get there matters

absolutely, I believe all feedback should be informed with the intentions and best interests of the creator in mind in good faith

once that is established, it's all fair game and can be applied or ignored, and the customer can respond in either continued support or lack of in kind
January 13, 2026 at 12:34 AM
this post was inspired by me replying to Swen Vincke saying "people would just prefer you not use AI in any capacity" and someone going "You shouldn't force devs to do what you want" as if it wasn't very basic customer feedback :/
January 13, 2026 at 12:20 AM
I was gonna just apply this to games but I see it all the time for just about everything tbh
January 13, 2026 at 12:10 AM
Schrodinger's feedback: Feedback from an audience/customer base should either be:

> listened to because the customer pays the bills and should be respected
OR
> ignored because you shouldn't force the creator to conform to your wishes

depending on whether one agrees with the feedback or not

Looking to potentially do an animated compilation some time in the future

What's your favorite non-scripted JoCat moment?

The best part about dota is if you think a hero is overpowered all you gotta do is play as them in your next game and you'll quickly learn how much bullshit you can do to completely shut that very same hero down

If you mean Scott cawthon, yeah I agree

I don't know if Markiplier has done anything afaik though, has something happened?

Watch out for the ONE question where they try to trick you by putting "I want AI" as the bottom option where EVERY other question has "I don't want AI" at the bottom!

I agree with this and will be applying it myself in world building, thanks for sharing!

I gave TavernCat a bit more of a challenge for this campaign, not only composing far more tracks than Necro Hunt, but in a spanish flamenco style that I felt was not explored as often in high fantasy settings

and he more than surpassed my expectations. All of them, top notch bangers. Please support

I have concluded that the only good fantasy RPGs are pathfinder WotR and planescape torment
