Everyone should read this week’s WSJ story on Trump selling pardons. It’s some of the most corrupt shit I’ve ever seen—you can literally corner him at one of his lame parties and walk away with a pardon. How is this not the biggest story in the country?

There are a lot of files in this new dataset that have made me feel this way.

I’m still making my way through DataSet 8, but this is some vile shit.

Fluxus Didn’t Make “Anti-Art.” It Made Anti-Authority.
The mid-century avant-garde did not simply expand what music could sound like. It rewired what music could be as an artwork in the first place.

DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."

Garcia: First, let’s be very honest about what’s happening. This is a White House cover-up. They are now involved in an illegal cover-up of the Epstein files. They’re defying Congress. They’re defying their own base. They’re lying to the American people.

Garcia: If you are a whistleblower at the FBI, at the DOJ, if you worked hard to put the files together and are seeing your work now being hidden by your own DOJ, contact the oversight committee. We have whistleblower protections.

The 1950s Didn’t Calm Down. It Broke Open.
Mid-century American abstraction and postwar American sound are often taught as separate stories, one visual and one musical, but they belong to the same historical weather system.

This is the second lesson I’m dedicating to Tony, and it belongs here, because I still can’t separate what I know from the way he taught me to feel it.

This is appalling. Again, Trump and ICE have had the option to deport Abrego Garcia to Costa Rica for weeks and weeks. They won't explain why they refuse to do this. But we know why: Because they've decided it isn't dehumanizing or cruel enough.

Art Nouveau is often introduced as a style, but it is better understood as an ethic of perception; a way of believing that modern life could be made coherent through rhythm, line, and atmosphere.
