While I'm complaining about modern Sherlock Holmes adaptations...why do they keep making Holmes and anti-social asshole?

I mean he was, but ONLY to upper class, privileged asshats demanding unearned respect due to a bloodline. He was incredibly empathetic and spoke kindly to clients and victims.
