New split view in Google Chrome. A small tweak from UI team is more useful to me than the billions spent on Gemini.

The days when music weighed something. You had to lug them like books. You had to had to stack them and stash them. The could be warped. Scratched. Stolen.

Oh, Christ. You think those pictures accompanying an album are "thumbnails" don't you? "Thumbnails". God...

Covers are actually static cinema. You didn't know that, did you?

The album cover of old wasn't a wrapper. It was the yin to the record's yang. It was one half of the Eisensteinian montage.

When we were tiny, every album was like Xmas. The zip of opening the shrink wrap. The smell of the cardboard. Plus the machine smell of vinyl. The crackle of a two album set as its spine was flexed open for the first time. 144 square inches of real estate - or multiples thereof!

Went into Rough Trade record store off Portobello Rd & felt disoriented looking at all the bold & fearsome LPs. Heartbreaking that you kids missed the visual half of owning music. Listening to an album, a person should be poring over cover front & back & liner notes & lyrics sheet. A poster even!

A copy of the Occupied Times just dug up (astoundingly the NOV 16 issue!), the paper printed by #OccupyLondon

The color of the pages is Financial Times Pink but my phone has helpfully color-corrected

The Occupy London camp at St. Paul’s was rigorously ridiculed & discounted & very very impressive.

Great day at SVG Europe’s FutureSport event in Brighton. Had the pleasure of interviewing Mark Lichtenhein on the content revenue disaster that is sports content piracy.

Halloween is a frantic night for Cloud the dog, with all the doorbell ringing and even fireworks. Here she is trying to relax, watching The Thing.

Astonishing day at @smallpublishers.bsky.social in London today. In a world of empty digital frenzy, it’s humbling & inspiring to see so much dedicated work & concentration going into a single object - a book. Glory to the #book.

So that's why they've been so obsessed with Amelia Earhart.

Because she is literally the girlfriend of...

...the founder of Antifa.

At £6, this Monster Lab is already a bargain, but attendees at our inaugural event will get Monster Lab For Life!

At @auworks.bsky.social , we never use Gen AI in our content. Never. We're stubborn that way.

Sometimes we even go super old school. The wolf imagery in this article about content predators was built from photos we took of a Dire Wolf model (with interchangeable heads).

Yesterday a Eurostar carriage of media industry tech geniuses - plus me - partied from London to Amsterdam on the way to week’s big #IBCShow. It’s called The Flint Green Line. We hatched it when I was at The Flint last year to promote green travel to media biz trade shows.

Today I’m off to #IBCShow in #Amsterdam. The new issue of ¡AU! Journal will be getting its print debut and I’ll be asking media tech companies how they & their customers are planning to adapt to a world in crisis.

Just ran across this fabulous print magazine in my local West London coffee shop from The Quick & The Brave. They look to be a newish publisher doing more global-facing storytelling. Love it.

On & on I go about how we should be in this together, sharing our creative work & developing the best practices, networks & economics for creating a deep & blazing world of art.

But do I share my own work? Not seriously. Not honestly.

I’m a writer. But I do pictures for fun.

Here’s a picture.
