The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

Golden fleet, golden dome, gold TrumpCard immigration visa, please stop. This is comic book villain shit where Doctor Giraffe has to make every goddamn thing giraffe themed just in case Spectacular Man didn’t get the message sent by the giraffe suit.
President Trump will announce on Monday a new type of large warship he is calling “battleships,” marking a step toward achieving the president’s vision for a new “Golden Fleet.”
Trump To Announce Navy Will Buy New ‘Battleship’
The new warship will be the latest in what the White House envisions as a “Golden Fleet.”

Organ-tuning records could be useful for climate studies, said Neil Macdonald, a professor of geography at the University of Liverpool. “As somebody that’s worked on a lot of historical records of climate and weather, I’ve never come across this,” he said.

Best Xmas movie bar none.
Of course he has a knife, he always has a knife, we all have knives! It's 1183 and we're barbarians!
The Lion in Winter (1968)

Katherine Hepburn plays Eleanor of Aquitaine, released from prison to celebrate Christmas with her husband, King Henry the II. Full of insane one-liners and a star studded cast, this movie demands your full attention as love and hate ensnare each character. 10/10

I’m not the biggest fan of boxing as a concept, but I do think we’re at the point where the only thing that’s going to prove to some people that they aren’t the main character with pro level skills at anything they want is to be punched in the face repeatedly.

I've famously told this story on podcasts a number of times, but I met Gil Gerard as a kid at a celebrity tennis tournament and he tried to pick up my mom right in front of me. Was I mad? No. Buck Rogers tried to fuck my mom, which is the most Buck Rogers thing he could do. Lived up to the legend.

Just so its clear: there's a blatant reason the chatbot gets applied to climate investments and not to, say, tech or real estate or finance.

You apply the slopbot when you don't care about outcome quality and want to minimise cost. NBIM doesn't care about taking good climate investment actions.

One of the biggest reasons why better cities are hard to achieve is the powerful proven psychology of “status quo bias.” No matter how bad an idea was in the first place, once it’s in place, our “loss aversion” means we will fight irrationally hard to protect it from any change to something better.

The tragedy of Rob and Michelle’s deaths are incomprehensible.

I’m hearing Rob’s voice telling us all to do more, to repair the human soul, to repair our hearts, to repair our country, to repair our world, to keep fighting, to keep living for every soul taken from this earth.

I’ve had a cabinet reshuffle on my website so the rodents from the monoprint drawings gallery are now in the Rodents gallery and it’s looking a bit more richly populated in there. Here are a few of the nice dudes to be found there. Look, share, buy, thank you x

The time of year when all middle-aged men imagine for a moment that they’re Kurt Russell in The Thing.
There are many things I like about winter, the holiday lights and cosy fires, hot cocoa and making snow angels, but my favourite of all is how I can see my breath escaping my lips.

It lets me I know I’m not dead yet.
