I suspect her gyn, a woman, will not tell her to stop. I told her as long as insurance/Medicare pays for your exams you should do them.

right? That's what I told her. It was so bizarre.

Just looked, CDC does say it can be recommended but seems so risky: www.cdc.gov/cervical-can...
Screening for Cervical Cancer
The HPV test and the Pap test can help prevent cervical cancer or find it early.

I told her to talk to her gyn and definitely not to stop going, esp because she had a large ovarian cyst last year which required an oophorectomy& salpingectomy. But the whole thing is weird. I know they said younger women can go like every three years, which I also heavily side eye and do not fllw.

Not sure you are on FB but on Weakley's group a well-known botanist has been spamming the group with AI generated botany comics today and everyone is pissed off. Which is funny considering this person generally rails against climate change and environmental issues.

Who will be the first to sue an AI company for defamation when a fake quote is attributed to them? Of course we could all sue for plagiarism, all us writers....

That and there is a blur in people understanding what human-led computer generated things are vs what actual AI/LLM is. This same person was saying original Google searches and GPS were AI, which they are fundamentally not. When you blur it makes it easier to accept it as inevitable.

The number of writers I see starting to cave into this is bothering me a lot. I'm really upset with the "it's coming might as well join" rhetoric and from people I never would have expected to see it coming from. Just wrote a long comment back to someone this morning on their post.

I had to take four pills and also luckily just mixed Miralax in with Gatorade so it didn't taste horrible.

My PCP gave me that option but the downside was you don't see the benign/early polyps and they can at least go in and get those at the same time if you do a real one. Figured I'd just go all in!

I'm so far behind in reading your articles I'll never catch up but this was really great and honestly needed!

Got one! Very excited. I haven't been to a concert in probably almost 20 years.
