Question for women/AFAB folks: has anyone else heard or been told you can stop getting a pelvic/pap at 65? My mom was told this by her PCP (new guidelines supposedly) but is incredulous about it. Is it, well, fuck it, you are old already who cares if you get cervical cancer? Or???

This is me every time I hear ads on Crime Pays But Botany Doesn't and then hear Joey railing against something that would have been in those ads in his next rambling when the pod cuts back in. I wish he would change his ad situation up. It is beyond obnoxious.
I've noticed similarly obnoxious ads (eg, sports gambling ads on non-sports pods). Is ad serving just a service for the podcast/network, and whatever comes up gets played? Do pods/networks have veto rights, or is it case by case based on juice (eg, Conan could keep an ICE or gambling ad off)?

Just watched and ICE stop outside my office. I didn't see the people pulled out of the car. Husband told me to come check out "this traffic stop". I knew what it was going to be when I went up but didn't take my phone for photos. Four unmarked SUVs. They were in and out quick.

Upped my Vyvanse to 40mg last Friday and FINALLY I think I might be in the right dose or close to it. I'm not fizzling/crashing out after 5pm anymore. I'm almost back to a "normal" evening feeling but still a bit tired but not like I was even last week on 30mg.

Making maps for this damn book of mine and going back and re-doing some of them because the generalized waters shapefiles I have *aren't great* and now digitizing off of LiDAR, which are helping all of the bridge points I have make more sense.

In other news, there's a wasp in my office and it refuses to be corralled into the hall. Might have to just go open the back door for it to flee but it keeps going to my office plants, naturally, but my windows have screens so, no easy out there, friend.

My mind has really failed to catch the "LLMs are normal and it's normal to use them" norm. Every single time someone casually talks about using them I am surprised and uncomfortable, like someone has admitted to rolling coal or lighting wildfires bc it "helps them get more done"

Upped my Vyvanse to 40mg and damn if it doesn't really bring out the monotropism. Told someone I would be somewhere at 2pm but have zero interest in stopping work on my book now. *sigh* And yes, I'm going to go but getting out of the groove of this sucks.

Don't know that I really want to be the "Actually..." person but might have to start with the amount of NDs just blanket using AI without giving it a second thought. Seeing people dismissing power/water usage because "we already use it for other data", without grasping the actual situation.
