I'm considering a little post series extolling the virtues of easy beginner #nativeplants 🌱 for the Mid-Atlantic because in March or April, a bunch of new folks will careen into this hobby (it's like clockwork) and it might be handy to have said posts for quoting.

I'll thread them starting here.

Up to 41 #nativeplants species sown 😳🌱 (a few out of frame here)

Oh I definitely didn't know until I went researching for notable persons with missing or injured eyes!

Decent photos of faces. Teddy has really impressive eyeliner and from a distance Peets often looks photoshopped because the spot under his missing eye is so bright white.

🐈🐈 #kittens
Peter the kitten. He is buff tabby with white splotches. His right eye is missing, with a bright white spot right under where it was removed. His left eye is golden with a milky spot on it. His pink ears have white tufts. Teddy the kitten. He is a gray classic tabby whose right eye was removed. He has a very nice bright white monocle pattern around his remaining eye.

Teddy still had his eye, just couldn't see out of it, I think.

Our previous cats had mundane people names and we liked it ... though I too definitely wanted to call the gray boy some variation on Odin 😂

They're named after notable persons with one working eye: gray is Theodore/Teddy (Roosevelt, blind in one eye due to an injury in a boxing match) and buff is Peter/Peets (Falk, actor who played Columbo, had an eye removed as a little kid due to cancer).

Lol well... Our last two were white and gray so we're used to it

I need your help sending another gas furnace to the junkyard - @vayu.pro is looking for a part-time project manager to help us grow!

Zero prior knowledge needed.

If you’re organized, creative, empathetic, and want to break into a climate career, you’ll thrive.

Know anyone who fits the bill?

What local businesses should we highlight in the Baltimore Beat gift guide?

I hope someone has written a poem about this friend and its highly combustible host plant 💚🦋

Went on a little hike today and saw these beautiful bald eagles in their nest.

Not to be an asshole but why can't the answer be "just no" for data centers 😂😭

A local bestie of mine is into fiber arts actually, though crochet not knitting I believe. HmmmmMMMMmmmm

I'm not sure we will edit well when taking lessons from data center grid/ratepayer issues to electrification grid/ratepayer issues. Current transmission fights hint at this outcome. And if the main lesson is just "no" ... idk man, seems bad

(no solutions here only anxiety 💖)

I'm a little worried about the extent to which people will assume data centers and electrification of combustion equipment are similar power and infrastructure problems, with similar solutions and costs/risks to solve. The latter is so diffuse compared to the former - physically, financially, etc.
