A collection of moths trying to cosplay a human interdisciplinary artist. MedSci escapee, always drawing, in my chaos-bisexual-enby-hag era. Paintmaker. Moth, disability, & art-related sh*t-posting. https://linktr.ee/lycomorpha & lycomorpha.etsy.com

Bemused at all the people suddenly following me, so uhh.

Hi? Here's some things to know.

I swear a lot. If you're offended by words like wankspangled knobcockle, I'm not for you.

I post many moths & other bugs. I talk/yell about alt text, chronic life, pencils, & paint. I post paint-making a lot…
How did I not know until now that orange juice with a couple of shots of espresso in is, in fact, fucken tasty?? 🙃

Current pretzel species tried so far:

- Salted
- Pumpkin seed
- Puddingbrezel (vanilla cream-crown but make it pretzel shaped)
Once I've recovered from the morning-ness and the Tuesday-ness, I predict things will improve.

Visiting a friend who's apparently gonna make me eat pretzels.

Oh no. How terrible.

All eyes needed—and we're matching £887 / $1,162. Sarah's lupus is deteriorating; she really needs medical evacuation. She also needs care, which costs money—which she only gets through strangers. It's that simple.

Help her survive. Give/find the Abdelwahed's link here. chuffed.org/project/hope...

Good morning & welcome to 'sweet holy fuckbeans, why am I awake?'

1. Tuesday's are objectively the worst.

2. I don't like getting up early but ♿-pick up is superfast with no queue.

3. All of the above, & I just need a coffee being enuf to swim in.

today's prompt: gender neutral/NB names inspired by nature, the more unhinged the better. go go go.
For real though, bibliographic terms make great nonbinary names. I have genuinely considered changing my name to Deckle

This feed is handy when I'm using a screen-reader.

Sounds weird for an image-only feed! But…

I only follow people who use alt text. So using this feed effectively screens out vexing stuff with no alt.

(Also very useful when I'm just feeling tetchy & don't wanna put my good eyes on, lololol)

Now we're well past the event, gonna share this birthday card I made for my niece.

It's a card and a dotcard/mini-paint set! (Didn't know if it was gonna work, verr relieved that it does 😁)

there’s an interesting thing we’ve done in our social circle as a result of Covid which is: now we let people know before social activities if anyone has any symptoms of anything potentially contagious, so everyone can make their own risk assessment

I don't share as much art as I used to, & I don't make as much art as I used to cos:

1. Slop machines made it even more difficult to get paid for making art, so I do more of other things that do pay. Cos I have bills.

2. Stuff artists do share ending up in the slop machines is pretty demotivating…

While I'm not quite at the point of losing my house, the harm ai has done to my animation work income is huge, like 80% gone and it makes me wonder how many freelance artists and animators ARE losing everything while billionaire con men continue to rake it in.

Reject the evaporation of support for survival funds—for Palestinian survival. A share, a dollar, a printed flyer (check the link), a text each and all help.

The cost is Palestinian survival. These are the stakes for six families & a camp of fifteen more. chuffed.org/project/hope...

It's about autumn & winter, forests & rocks, time & change, queer community, & the community aunties who have passed on but left us some wisdom to hold on to.

I painted this zine with this paint set I made. (It's also called Bonfire Season.) Along with the moth set, I think it's one of my favourite things I've made this year. 😊

Today's a great day to support some creators.

Writers and artists and creatives of all sorts: reply with a link to one of your works. And feel free to tell us about it.

Everyone: let's check through the replies and buy some creations and support some human beings.

5. Art is political.
[Gestures at art history.]
It has always been & will always be political.

Even the choice to make not-obviously-political art is a political choice, & one that can be made in many ways.

If someone asks you to draw a house & the house is on fire, draw flames.

What many politicians don't realise - or want to understand - is that many of the "highly-skilled" immigrants whose labour they crave were raised by the same asylum seekers and refugees they openly despise. They take the racist political rhetoric personally, and act accordingly. Why wouldn't they?
"Record numbers of overseas-trained doctors are quitting the UK, leaving the NHS at risk of huge gaps in its workforce, with hostility towards migrants blamed for the exodus...the NHS is so heavily reliant on doctors from elsewhere – 42% of its entire medical workforce qualified overseas."
All those people, including current government, who falsely claim migrants are to blame for failings with the NHS, along with infrastructure in general, are in for one hell of a shock with how much worse things will get with Labour's anti-immigration policies.
