Oh I know the answer to this one!

When ridership declines and population rises, people didn't just stop moving around. The inverse of this chart is cars. (minus the pandemic)

I'm relatively able, although any strenuous activity makes me super sick and panicky. I can navigate this, so but pretty much 11% of the population and anyone with carts or prams - are SOL.

#Ottawa weather update: Light snow continues till around 10:30. Then we get into balmy temperatures, continuing into next week where we actually see a positive four ♥️

It's always darkest before the dawn, but winter's not done yet.

We still have the false spring and the spring of deception, to go.

Looking at the pattern, it looks like there has been an uptick. Although winter seems to always be an issue. You can formulate your own conclusions at OccasionalTransport.ca/Explore

I guess the storm shield is holding. It's sporadically on and off here at Bayshore. It should get heavier and closer to 3:00pm as the blue mass makes it's way over.

T-30m till impact. Good luck everyone 😁

#Ottawa Weather update: Considerably warmer day today. Light to moderate snow starts around 10am. Continues till 9:00 p.m. 5-10-15.7cm forecasted. Then light/very light snow starts up again around 1:00 a.m. and goes 4:00 p.m. tomorrow (1.5cm)

The worst station of 2026 so far is STL. Congratulations 🎉
February 9, 2026 at 11:47 PM
What do you mean by variance? The 417 has a predictable two times a day slow down. Probably features a major accident at least once a month.

The 417 even with slowdowns is pretty much going to be faster unless you start at the LRT station.

Driving the LRT is about 15m (~2x) faster

Worst times to ride the LRT.

Your #Ottawa weather update: Now 3°C less face ripping cold than the previous formulation. 12°C inbound by the commute home. Then hella snow tomorrow.

Press forth and endure!

I realised an "all" to see the trend (or if there is one) would be useful, but just a "total summary" without context isn't too useful either, totals can be spiked by outliers.

So... I concocted this monster. It needs a legend, but what do you think? Useful?

Stats say skipping the LRT on Thursday/Friday is your best bet to stay sane. Long weekends for mental health. #Ottawa

The yearly LRT issue map is up. Long time coming and pritty cool *humble brag* 😊

Gots to clean the database, but do take a look - our collective history laid bare. (click on the bars)

Today's #Ottawa weather is arse. It's negative 33 with wind chill and it's a wet cold.
February 8, 2026 at 3:01 PM
Bound to be some entertainment tomorrow. 15 years of construction and a handful of pushbacks due to pre-opening problems. Hopefully they stick the landing.
February 8, 2026 at 12:06 AM
Cleaning up the hard drive. Renember these fun memories? #Ottawa

Crunching the numbers. Percent of 2019 ridership levels (year before pandemic) and % change from the year before

#Ottawa Weather Update: Its hella cold.
February 7, 2026 at 1:47 PM
3h later and the trains are still crowded. Are we just running not enough today? @helps.octranspo.com

Not very "montoring the situation from the command center and deploying resouces as needed"

(Available seat pictured is "wet")

Medical emerg has lifted, but heavy crowding from HUR to PIM reporting in. This is HUR going West, already filling. #ottawa

And that's why I advocated for these. Because these would tell you at a glance if something's wrong. Alerts can be published right to the ground level. They can also coordinate emergency response and a whole bunch of other good things.

But they've turned at least this one off... I don't know why.
