Fantasy: read the first book of Tim Probert’s “Lightfall” series, “The Girl and the Gardulian”. The art is just gorgeous.

Also contemporary romance, because a novel idea jumped almost fully formed into my brain after reading one & I can’t stop thinking about it 😬

After I finish The Late Breakfasters, I'm planning to shift over to dark fantasy and dive into Kerstin Hall's Asunder.

So many! Gotta say, though, that @sgj.bsky.social just writes horror that is on another level. I'm extremely excited to dig into The Buffalo Hunter Hunter later this month.

I'm looking forward to continuing a series by Camilla Grebe. She's an author I didn't know existed until recently. Picked up a free book from one of the town's local spots (we've several here where you can pick up a book or leave one), and it was great! #OcTBRchat

I am debating whether to opt for The Life of Chuck for a smaller read or Atmosphere for a change of pace. But honestly my mood could change by the time I finish this doorstop of a current book! #OcTBRChat

Oh! Do you know? I've just realised I can claim my first badge. I read Maus for the first time. Gulp, should have read that a long time ago. Pretty devastating.

I should finish this , it's amazing, but the stories pack a heavy emotional punch, so I've felt the need to savour and process each one #OcTBRchat

@raynewman.bsky.social gave me some super chills with his short story collections this summer - very modern takes on the traditional ghost story, which wear their social consciousness lightly but with depth of emotion

oooof. I have no idea what I'm reading next. right now I'm devouring Map of Pain by Gale Ian Tate (and it's sooooooo good) but I can't even fathom what I'll be in the mood for next. maybe that Layla Reyne reread.

This week? Not really, tbh.

The last time I felt that was with Fleischerei by Saoirse Ni Chiaragain. But in a good way - it touches on the potential horror of physical intimacy. A very original note on the chord of cannibalism currently stirring in the #HorrorCommmunity

I'm actually having to read a fair bit of non-fiction for research at the moment, but this book has made it an absolute pleasure this week. #OcTBRChat

the list is truly too long. and I've lost track of who has bsky accounts anymore. but I'm super looking forward to a new book by Lori Ames that I picked up a while ago.
also thinking about rereading Layla Reyne's mutliple series for the third time this year--they're my happy place.

Well I just did 😅 @danhanks.bsky.social

But I feel like I need to give a shoutout to the Swedish Stephen King, John Ajvide Lindqvist, who's been translated into English (and several other languages), and who I highly recommend reading! 🧛‍♂️ #OcTBRchat

As an editor I get to read pretty widely, but I was honoured to get the chance to work on a new rom-com by the wonderful @noellesalazar.bsky.social recently called The Meet Poop which definitely took me in a different direction to what I normally read - but in a great way (IT'S AMAZZZZZING!)
