I remember being told that it would take 193 years to reach legal limits for nitrogen dioxide.

I decided this was unacceptable.

Thanks to the bold policies we put in place, we've managed to do it in nine years - 184 years earlier than expected.

On Sunday, #Zürich residents voted 52.8% in favor of increasing parking fees for cars according to weight.

The owner of a BMW X2 (Diesel), which weighs 1,675 kilograms, will now pay equivalent of €717 Euros per year to park on a public street. (Before, about €321.)

Guess the biggest source of NOx road air pollution in central London.

Taxis? Buses? Private cars? Nope, it's now vans.

Once the biggest polluter, taxis have rapidly gone electric. Meanwhile vans fleets are only slowly being electrified.

We cant just leave this to cities tho… we need policy at a UK level. Its crazy current regs mean cars can be built as wide as a truck and we're a tax haven for SUVs. Many European countries charge SUVs more tax.

#Carspreading is leading to a lot more pollution with SUVs burning on average 20% more fuel.

Even without an engine, it's a problem - very heavy electric cars emit tiny toxic particles from tyre wear, which is becoming an increasing concern for air quality...7/10

#Carspreading is also far more dangerous, especially for children. SUVs in the UK are 3x more likely to kill a child aged 0 to 9 years walking or cycling than a regular sized car. This is partly the result from the extra weight and design features such as a taller and squarer bonnet... 6/10
