had a leaking car tire, and while i was putting off doing anything about it, i recalled getting a plug kit a long time ago. found the kit in the car, and fixed the puncture in a couple of minutes (it was a screwdriver bit). very happy with both past and present me for that one.

met a girl in the first couple weeks of college, i went to her dorm room and over the course of the afternoon slowly it became clear that her thing was the andy griffith show. she'd seen all of the episodes, she had tapes. one of the more unusual people i encountered in college.

you can hear way too much of the arena music on this hockey broadcast, and it's all christmas music. i would not make my themes that obvious if i were the dj (i.e. songs with bass flute, songs originally released on an EP). figuring them out would be a fan contest activity for intermission.

free idea: those sand art pulled coke bottles that were at carnivals, but do it with the rainbow of beans and lentils we have available.

put some rye flour in my starter to see how that would work, and when i tasted the bread, i thought "this would be good with some wild rice soup" and i was correct. dinner that feels like a hug.

i don't watch much nationally televised sports, so i am a normal person and have completely uncorrupted eyes, and in my opinion hockey games on TNT look absolutely terrible - someone needs to take the bowl of cocaine away from whoever is turning the saturation dial.

if my last name is "nix", it would be hard to resist the temptation of giving a kid a "u" name. their computer class teacher would love that.

i have a theory that westerns made in 21st century have a higher hit rate because they are so unpopular and difficult (horses), they really want to make the movie.
i believe the same theory applies to big band music, but there's been so little made in the last few decades that it's hard to say.
