Hello, I’m OneOneTwo. I’m one of the moderators of the /r/MegaMan Subreddit and talk a lot about public transit (especially in Washington, D.C.). If you like action games or transit, I’d love to chat in replies to my posts :)

I also have a Games Beaten Thread if you’d like to see what I’m playing.

I appreciate the ambition Capcom had for Universe, but tbh this game did not look good in the slightest. An official Mega Man level creator is a great idea (there’s a reason Mega Man Maker is so good!). But Capcom would need to lean into that and maybe not have an awful art style.

This is a really pedantic response; I was just trying to delineate between the GameCube and Switch releases.

That's also not even the point I was trying to make with the post lol.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door's soundtrack is immaculate, you don't need me to tell you that

But I did not comprehend how much effort went into the remaster's OST, that soundtrack is FOURTEEN HOURS! And the original's is FOUR! That's crazy!

Music from both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo GameCube versions of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is now available on the #NintendoMusic app!

This one I did know because it's used in speedruns. I don't think the Sweep Kick is used in speedruns.
oneonetwo.bsky.social
If you crouch while using the Spin Attack in Super Mario Galaxy (& Galaxy 2), you essentially do the equivalent of the Sweep Kick from Super Mario 64.

I only learned of this today, and I don’t think the game ever tells you this!

Huntington is mine because it is not only built into the side of a hill, but has an inclined elevator (which is quite a rarity even globally).

Did you know Metro has 98 stations across three jurisdictions? What’s your favorite station and why?

Is it the location, the look, or just the vibe? Let us know in the comments! 🚇 👇

The fact that none of these answers are correct is crazy. The correct answer is the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, something you can easily look up in 10 seconds.

Why is this game shockingly really fun. I find that most pinball video games are either too intrusive with their gimmicks or so boring that I might as well go to an arcade and play regular pinball instead. Prime Pinball somehow expertly threads the needle and has great gimmicks and pinball tables!

Wow that sure was Metroid 1 with the GBA's screen real estate lol.

I mostly played this to say I played every Metroid game, there's very little difference otherwise lol. Metroid 1 overall is a hard game to go back to but tbh, I do enjoy running through this one quickly.

However, some of its ideas were just implemented in a clumsy manner, especially certain boss fights, the new artifact hunt, and the weapons.

Expect more Metroid reviews from me, as i'm going to try and beat the remaining Metroid games I haven't beaten yet with Prime 4 on the horizon.

I greatly respect Prime 2's ambition and ultimately did have a good time with this game. The Dark/Light Aether split and the environments on the planet were fun to explore and comb through, some of the bosses were a blast, and I also liked the story.
oneonetwo.bsky.social
The one thing I really disliked was the weapons having ammo. The Dark and Light Beams just weren't as fun to use as the beams in Prime 1 imo, especially since they were limited by ammo.
oneonetwo.bsky.social
Some of the bosses were really fun (shout-outs to Quadraxis, Amorbis, and the final bosses), but others were honestly a little too annoying (Boost Guardian and Spider Guardian especially, the latter also took a bit too long).
oneonetwo.bsky.social
The Dark and Light Aether split is really cool, and having puzzles in one dimension impact the other led to some interesting puzzles. However, it did lead to an item hunt for the Sky Temple Keys at the end of the game that was somehow more obnoxious than the Chozo Artifacts in Prime 1.

Prime 2 is pretty ambitious in many ways, with a dark/light dual world similar to Link to the Past, a much steeper challenge, and more unique weapons. I think it succeeds at quite a lot of it, but ultimately not more than Prime 1.

not to point at anyone in particular, but I have been in and on many different internet communities of various shapes/sizes/technologies and one mistake I consistently see made is assuming the technical part of running a community is the hard part.

it's not.
it's the social part.
it's moderation.

I worry that Majogami will struggle to stand out as an Inti Creates IP with gameplay this similar, particularly when Gunvolt 3 was already a pretty controversial release (although I would hope the plot is better in this game).

That said, the game looks absolutely gorgeous on Switch 2.

Majogami is the latest Inti Creates game that releases on October 30, and it's another 2D Action game with sublime flow and a really cool art style. That being said, I find that the gameplay feels a bit too similar to Kirin's Arc Chain from Gunvolt 3.

CrossWorlds was really fun, the track design is pretty creative and the CrossWorld mechanic is unique. However, the upscaling on Switch 2 looks pretty atrocious, so I can't see myself getting this until either the Switch 1 version is on sale or the Switch 2 version comes out.

Today I tried two demos: Sonic Racing CrossWorlds and Majogami on Switch 2. My more elaborate thoughts on both are in the replies, but TL:DR I understand why Sonic Racing is well-liked by fans, and Majogami is fun but feels too similar to Gunvolt 3. 🧵
