I think we, as leftists, have good ideas, and people seem generally more receptive to them than they’ve been in a long time. The trick for all of us who want to see those ideas spread is — to the greatest extent possible — not to be personally unpleasant about pushing for them

House GOP is pushing a 10yr federal ban on state-level AI regulation. This would override laws in CA, CO, UT & TN, aiming to prevent a mashup of rules. Realistically, this strips states of power to protect their residents. Like when AI *swears* the safe internal temp for 🍗 is 102F [it's 165F, btw]

The Public Broadcasting Act of 1967 created the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. I reread it today; nothing in the law allows a president to defund PBS and NPR. In fact, Congress specifically sought to insulate public media from political pressure.
