This shredder drone was inspired by Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector. The idea of an autonomous spaceship drifting stealthily through space was chilling, and felt just right for Zero Point. It's armed with a swarm projector, launching numerous small drones that tear easily into slower ships. #LEGO

It's PHYSICS FOR CATS publication day!! Luna has her copy: do you? www.tomgauld.com/comic-books-v2
A black cat sits on a wicker basket reading the book PHYSICS FOR CATS by Tom Gauld... Ok, so she's not really reading it. She's not even quite looking at it to be completely honest. But it is possible to imagine that she is reading and thoroughly enjoying it.

I'm mostly satisfied with my latest attempts at the Zero Point fleet, so here's a look at them. Like all their spaceships, this corvette is considerably smaller than its EDSC and Khuraltan counterparts. But superior defensive measures, sensors, and fire control make it surprisingly lethal. #LEGO

Working on more spaceships for Zero Point, one of the largest corporations in Morningstar with its own private army and navy. I continue to go through so many WIPs for this faction. Here are some older attempts that didn't make the cut. But I think I'm getting close to a suitable fleet now. #LEGO
Render of a bunch of LEGO spaceships with intimidatingly sharp and angled armor in black and red. I made these in Oct/Nov 2024 but didn't like them enough to use them. Render of a LEGO spaceship with intimidatingly sharp and angled red armor. This was a redesign attempted in December 2024, rejected when I couldn't make smaller ships that matched. Render of two more LEGO spaceships with intimidatingly sharp and angled red armor. Part of the same December 2024 redesign, these are torpedo and railgun variants. Render of another LEGO spaceship with intimidatingly sharp and angled red armor. Part of the same December 2024 redesign, this one is an assault carrier with a split prow protecting a hangar and catapult launchers for mecha and smaller spacecraft.

Very excited about this little cutie. Glad to see it's becoming a thing after all.

With Spaceshiptember over I had a nice, restful day, and finally got back to Silksong. But I also took time for a pleasant walk. It's autumn, chilly, and rainy—just how I like it. #bloomscrolling

Thanks! That was one of the inspirations flitting about my head, I think. I probably should have tried to add something like the blue sections on the Arwing, to bulk out the fuselage a bit. Maybe I'll return to this one someday.

Here's a proper wrap-up of my #LEGO builds for #Spaceshiptember2025. Not included are numerous variants, recolors, and a whole lot of early or failed attempts. Thanks to @papapandamonium.bsky.social for the prompts, and thanks to everyone else who participated and inspired me. #Shiptember #SST25
Render of most, but not quite all, of my LEGO builds for Spaceshiptember 2025. Thirty days of spaceships (and stations) at various scales, in a wide range of colors and styles, including a few scenes and bits designed for stop-motion animations. Over $575 worth of over 5100 parts, in case you ever wonder why I mostly build digitally.

Day 30: Finale! I thought about just collecting all the builds I've made this month into a single render, but that seemed boring. So instead I made a variable-wing transport. Also thought about animating it but too tired—Spaceshiptember is a marathon! 😤 #LEGO #Shiptember #Spaceshiptember2025 #SST25
Render of a LEGO spaceship on a flightstand. The design has four bright pink wings and a white and medium azure fuselage, and is featured transforming between three options: wings closed, open, or swept back.

Day 29: Drones. Tried a bunch of ideas on a day when I had too little time. But I'm very pleased with what I finally came up with. Zero Point uses this stealthy fighter-scale drone for both site security patrols and CAS; missiles are concealed within. #LEGO #Shiptember #Spaceshiptember2025 #SST25
Front and back renders of a LEGO spaceship on a flight stand. The ship is a drone with a very sleek and angular design coming to a sharp point, with small winglets near the aft. It features a hinged cannon under its nose, but no other weapons are visible.

More shiptember. Bit of a fighter, more than a ship, so... fightember?

Some more #Shiptember action. Here's The Foundry, a Fast Picket, built by Chalmer & Hoyer.

Day 28: Exploration. I started this for day 24, but it wasn't really capturing "test flight". So I put it aside, with just the hab ring and engines done, and finished it today. This was a fun one-off, not part of my setting or to any particular scale. #LEGO #Shiptember #Spaceshiptember2025 #SST25
Front and back renders of a LEGO spaceship on a flightstand. A more realistic design than my usual fare, very linear except from a rotatable habitat ring, and mostly in white apart from a few black or gold bits. There's also a lot more surface detail than I normally feature, intended to suggest a particularly large ship with an emphasis on function over form.

Day 27: Station. Here's a static defense post for the Khuraltan Navy, with four each of main guns and point defense turrets. The initial jellyfish-like concept came to mind quickly, but actually coming up with a good design was trickier than expected. #LEGO #Shiptember #Spaceshiptember2025 #SST25
Render of a LEGO space station flanked by two spaceships, all on flight stands. All are in dark red and bright light orange. The station is a new design, with a round top and four curved wedges underneath, opening up to reveal four multi-gun turrets giving it a near-360° field of fire. Render of a LEGO space station on a flight stand. This is a lower angle showing off the inner structure including the multi-gun turrets and the far thinner central "stalk", as it were, including four antennas pointing down, away from the main body.

Got to meet James May yesterday and bought a (signed) bottle of his Asian Parsnip gin which is—I can now say from experience—very, very good. Looking forward to ordering American Mustard soon. I hope this tour has been worthwhile for these fine folks; it was certainly well-attended here.
Photo of a sign outside a Total Wine & More that reads: Special meet & greet and bottle signing / James May from Top Gear / James Gin / Friday Sept 26th 4:30pm - 6:30pm *Free*" and illustrated with his face, a glass and bottle of gin, and a juniper branch. Ooh, this game looks very interesting and atmospheric. There's a demo available on Steam—definitely gonna check it out.

We're at #VancouverGameGarden all weekend with @softrains.bsky.social showcasing Ambrosia Sky!

If you're local, come say hello! The event is free and the games are plenty (and wonderful)!

We'd love to see you!

And here are all the builds it took to make this happen. I started with the bottom left one then stretched it out and compressed it, adding or removing parts as needed. Though ultimately I only used half the frames (and therefore only half of these builds 🥲) to make for a quicker animation.
Render of a LEGO spaceship in 22 forms, all but one stretched out or compressed in length, used to create a stop-motion animation of the ship arriving from or disappearing back into FTL travel.

Day 26: Superliminal. This took a heck of a lot of work; I'm amazed I got it done in time. I took the ship design from day 18 and created a stop-motion animation, rendered out frame by frame, of it arriving from FTL travel, then disappearing once more. #LEGO #Shiptember #Spaceshiptember2025 #SST25

Drew heavily from the wrecked ship atop this page for The Signal from Tölva (bigrobotltd.itch.io/the-signal-f...). Art by @ianmcque.bsky.social if I'm not mistaken. For the alternate build, I was inspired by this piece (bsky.app/profile/macs...).

Day 25: Lasers. Started off by looking at what transparent parts are available. I wanted a long, prominent beam, but it's difficult to join bars end to end, so much of it wound up inside the ship. I made a second version, but I think I prefer the first. #LEGO #Shiptember #Spaceshiptember2025 #SST25
Front and back renders of a LEGO spaceship on a flight stand. The blue and yellow ship is split down the middle, a long red laser beam emanating from between the upper and lower sections. Sneak peek at my next build! BrickLink Studio has developed an annoying habit of occasionally, when I hit "undo", randomly rotating and moving most parts of a build. Thankfully I saved recently enough to have only lost a few small experimental changes, but seriously, what the heck is causing this?
Screenshot of BrickLink Studio. Where once there was a LEGO spaceship, now there is just a mess of overlapping parts due to some weird bug that has jumbled everything together seemingly at random. What the hell, people.

Day 24: Test Flight. Struggled for ideas—shelved one for a later prompt, while another was too boring. But I'm glad I pushed through, because I love how this turned out. Exposed tubes and wires don't suit my setting, but I'd like to do more like this. #LEGO #Shiptember #Spaceshiptember2025 #SST25
