Why We're Striking
A codified 4-day work week.
We simply want to protect the way we've been working for over 3.5 years. The 4dww has proven benefits, such as increased productivity and improved employee satisfaction. It's part of what makes Kickstarter a special, innovative place to work.
Fair pay for our lowest-paid workers.
We're fighting for livable minimum salaries for roles that are undervalued by the market but crucial to keeping Kickstarter running. We believe none of our workers should struggle to make ends meet.

At Kickstarter United, we’re pushing to make it permanent because we’ve seen the impact. It helps us avoid burnout, make space for life, and still launch big wins. We’re better workers and better people because of it.

Why a 4-day work week?
The bargaining unit members of Kickstarter United’s top priority in our next contract is securing a permanent 4-day workweek for all employees.

1. Health & wellness: The 4DWW allows us the opportunity to rest, reset, and refresh, reducing the likelihood of stress-related health impacts.
2. Well-roundedness: It allows us to balance work with family time, friendship, hobbies, and creativity, so that we can be more than just our job title.
3. Better employees: With one less day a week at our disposal, we develop creative solutions to work more efficiently to hit our goals and deliver business value.

How the team spends their Fridays
“The 4DWW allows me to make more time for my family, who all live on the opposite coast from me. This includes a recent trip out to New York to celebrate my grandmother’s 100th birthday with her!” -Katja Cresanti, Infrastructure Engineer
