With decades of experience, we on the west coast of the USA take it for granted that our vote by mail elections are convenient and transparent.
Meanwhile, wife still hasn’t received her ballot from the consulate in LA and missed the referendum registration. It’s like they make it hard on purpose.

Interesting footnote about the Seattle Times news clipping: the Times published in the evening, hence the photo caption mentioning the morning of that day. The other daily, the Post-Intelligence, was the morning paper. The Times switched to morning editions in 2000.

These freeway express routes (and articulated buses) are what I grew up with in Seattle, where both are in abundance. They continue to influence me and I find them a sort of comfort zone.
