Gul, a queer rishta aunty for "straight" marriages, is reeling from the death of her trans wife "husband". While setting up her bff (also trans), Gul rethinks her feelings for her. Can she face her past and find love again in the queerphobic city of Karachi?

A 2 panel comic page. The first panel shows the outside of a modest looking house in a mohalla (neighborhood). There's an expensive looking pickup truck parked at the door.
The second panel shows a coffee table inside the house. It's populated with snacks, chai, a laptop, some photographs, and a decorative plant.
Gul, the main character, says offscreen: "Like I said, Rida and her family aren't willing to move forward with this."
Gul's client says offscreen: "That's no excuse! Did you speak with the parents alone?" This page shows the interior of the house. Gul is seated with the client, an old woman, and her middle aged son, who is the groom candidate. As the page goes, the son reaches for the biscuits on the table.
Gul: "Rida's wish is what matters here. Her parents know better than to exclude her from her own rishta."
Side text reads: Gul, 45, Rishta aunty, widowed 4 years, wants to make the wedding scene less dogshit.
Client: "This is unfair. We've been so patient and compromising."
Gul: "Compromising?" This page shows shots of Gul seated with the client and her son, who is chomping on the biscuits.
Client: "Yes! I mean... you might not like to hear this, given your establishment... but the world isn't kind to girls who not only lack money but also looks."
A beat. Someone walks by Gul and takes her empty chai cup from her.
Gul: "And I suppose you see yourself as a savior in this world? You, your son, and his wife, who you never mentioned?"
Gul is holding her laptop that shows the image of the client's son with a woman. The client is shocked, her son almost chokes on his chai. The client looks up annoyed at the person that just walked in and is collecting everyone's empty mugs on a serving tray. Text next to this person reads: Atiya, 27, Gul's assistant, sees Gul as a mother.
Client, nervously: "Ahaha... is that what this is about? Did you mention this to the girl's family?"
Gul, correcting the client once more: "Rida..."

In @raoon.bsky.social's'Medium Rare,' a paranoid supermarket cashier befriends a girl but begins to obsess over her seemingly unending craving of meat.
While the cashier's imagination conjures increasingly horrendous scenarios, their bond grows stronger and more...ambiguous...

I am begging you, please use an RSS reader and *curate* your own media diet.

You will never be free if you rely solely on recommendation algorithms!

i think we also need a media diet shift in society, really think about what we are consuming and how we interact with others online, not wholly rely on "for you" algos and waiting on site-wide moderators to curate our experiences

we need to advocate for online societal change

my positive vision for atproto is for people to have a greater degree of self-determination on the public social web.

baseline experience should be decent, but motivated folks should be able to organize and get more control over their online spaces and experience in line with their norms+values.
