It's the casual fan vs. the baseball fan. For a leader the Brewers have one of the great recent workhorses, Yelich. They have a real star of the future, Chourio. Frelick plays like his hero Pedroia. They grow pitching on trees, and they run/field as well as anybody. They rarely make mistakes.

As a long time Milwaukee resident I can tell you there are resentments here but sweating Chicago's status in the world is waaay down the list.

People on here seem to be complaining a lot about the Brewers not being 'cool' enough. To them I say: grow up and watch yr money burn this season.

"We are trying to hold our ground against an intractable enemy. We are trying to out-think brute force. We are moving in opposition to the greatest purveyor of violence in the world, without the infrastructure or resources that our efforts require. We are stretched. And there is no end in sight."

"There just isn’t enough time. There’s only what we manage to make of it—what we build, what we protect, what we remember to carry to the car. The gas mask. The snacks. The question we forgot to ask. The name of the person taken." My latest.

The First Amendment explicitly guarantees:

-the right of the people peaceably to assemble
-to petition the Government for a redress of grievances
-the free exercise of religion
-freedom of speech

If this priest had also been press, ICE would have violated all five 1A freedoms at once.

This is the most accurate depiction of the Midwest to date. Wichita has always felt like the last Midwest city while also being the first plains city.

@akpress.org is publishing my book Scapegoat: What the Invasive Species Story Gets Wrong. It’s about the ways we are made to blame plants and animals (and people) for the horrors of capitalism, and invites us to reimagine our relationships with nature and each other. On shelves March 3, 2026!

A mapping workshop with refugees from Homs, Syria, asked participants to draw their neighborhoods from memory, bridging gaps between houses to generate a shared image of a city destroyed by war. To rebuild justly, residents will need to understand this pluralist city as others have lived within it.

If it helps, there is a long tradition of the U.S. government sending soldiers to make things worse in Chicago. From the 1894 Pullman strike:
