btw this is the only question with a text box besides the place to write your cover letter, the rest is filling in name, salary, etc. this is how important they think this is!

i don’t know your music taste obviously but these sites have been good for me:

TIDAL seems pretty much the same, but honestly to me the curated genre playlists on Spotify did more for me and I guess they’ll be gone soon.

I’d argue best way to discover great music is still through review sites and simply asking around. That last one is also a great conversation starter!

as a person on the floor of thunderful development (not publishing), this was such a strange event. they spent however much on hamill (who did a great job imo!), the internet shrugged and went back to elden ring or whatever. i think it was to make the IPO mor valuable (it tanked).

oh and this vegyn record (featuring glacier on several tracks) was one of my favourite albums of last year. vegyn.bandcamp.com/album/the-ro...
The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions, by Vegyn
13 track album

oh and i should link to SHILOH. i discovered vegyn's production work through it, but it's the combination of those low-bitrate beats and glacier's depressed words that make it essential plzmakeitruins.bandcamp.com/album/shiloh...
SHILOH: Lost For Words, by John Glacier
12 track album

oh i got the wrong album cover there. i've been listening to the version in the link, but there is also a deluxe version with a few more tracks that has the purple background. not listened yet

💿 John Glacier - Like A Ribbon
genre: hiphop, beats

i'm not big on hip hop, but every now and then something sticks. i loved her first LP "SHILOH". this one is denser (i think a compilation of several EPs, but they flow well!), kind of pondering vibe to it

had forgotten this one has some slower moments like on 'australian dream'. great record

💿 The Pretty Littles - FORCE
genre: punk, indie, rock

i'm quite new to this scene but i've been picking up more punk and emo bands past couple of years. and this is one that got my blood flowing this year

probably the album title of the year 🏆

💿 Whatever The Weather II
genre: electronic ambient experimental glitch

this one not been getting enough spins from me yet, but i thoroughly enjoy it each time. another great release from Loraine James/Whatever The Weather

💿 Gregor - Songs for springs & nails, piano, electric bass, abandoned guitar and voices Vol. I
genre: ambient pop

there were several releases by gregor this year, but this one stuck with me. it's so sparse and laid back

💿 ben seretan - astral projecting into flavortown
genre: "rock drone indie italian rock & roll Climax"

i’m also curious about EUV, which does not disclose it but they are known to use AI gen, and they check if devs are willing to use it straight on their job applications.
November 11, 2025 at 5:50 AM
i’d love it if some journalists kept digging at each release like this to figure unpack all the vague language in those disclosures.
November 11, 2025 at 5:47 AM
no worries! it’s straight on the steam page as they are forced to disclose it there. same ”it fits our creative vision” excuse that embark uses.

next one up is ANNO 117 which i was looking forward to, but has generative AI assets... i'll just buy something else.
