Donald Trump is the most corrupt President in American history. His administration is working every day to erase the progress we’ve made. But Ranking Member Robert Garcia and Oversight Dems are here to fight back.

Yeah, no. The law is clear: federal workers must receive back pay.

AND I have a bill to ensure federal contractors get it as well.

Proud to stand with my Virginia colleagues against the White House’s bogus threat to deny furloughed federal workers back pay.

The law is clear: back pay is guaranteed.

Families can’t be used as pawns in Trump & Vought’s shutdown.

After being investigated for leaking national secrets in a Signal group chat, Secretary Hegseth is attacking independent watchdogs to reduce oversight at the Pentagon.

What’s he afraid they’ll find?

The new rules, which include changes on how quickly inspector generals must process complaints, threaten to undermine the role of a key federal watchdog.

Speaker Johnson REFUSES to swear Adelita Grijalva in because he knows she’ll be the last signature we need to force a vote to release the Epstein files.

Swear her in. Release the files!

My constituents want me to get to work but House Republicans are more concerned about protecting the Epstein files.

Now that the Supreme Court has rejected Ghislaine Maxwell’s appeal, it’s time for her to testify in front of the Oversight Committee. We must end Trump’s coverup of the Epstein case.

Republicans are using this shutdown to continue damaging our federal government and devastating our health care system. We need a bipartisan agreement and an end to this shutdown.

Russ Vought is threatening “mass firings” of federal workers during the shutdown. It’s bs and blatantly illegal.

I’m calling on Chairman Comer to compel him to testify before Oversight & explain why he thinks he is above the law.

When people are navigating a shutdown, they turn to government websites for one thing—answers. NOT for partisan propaganda.

Like most of the Trump administration’s actions, the blatantly political misinformation from federal agencies is shameful, illegal, and a total waste of taxpayer dollars.

Speaker Johnson just told Republicans not to come back next week. Outrageous. Not only do they want to stay on vacation & prolong the Trump shutdown, they want to leverage it to keep covering up the Epstein files.

Rep-elect @adelitaforcongress.bsky.social needs to be sworn in immediately.

I urge Speaker Johnson to seat @adelitaforcongress.bsky.social without delay. With a Republican government shutdown and cuts to healthcare looming, the people of Southern Arizona deserve to have their voices be heard.

Trump & MAGA Republicans may be “having fun” during the shutdown as you said, Mr. Speaker. But the American people are not.

Republicans need to show up and do the job they are getting paid to do.

Speaker Mike Johnson just cancelled votes next week, once again putting politics above the American people.

Instead of lowering health care costs for millions of Americans, Republicans are extending their vacations while premiums are about to soar.

Donald Trump is weaponizing his shutdown to illegally fire thousands of federal workers. It’s authoritarian, it’s unlawful, and we won’t let it stand. Proud to join @oversightdemocrats.house.gov in launching investigations across every Cabinet agency.

Keeping Congress from voting will not stop our Epstein investigation. Speaker Johnson must bring the House back in session and end this sham government shutdown now.

My statement on Trump's government shutdown
Reposted by Oversight Dems
pressley.house.gov
By shutting down the government, Trump and Republicans are threatening the lives and livelihoods of millions of families.

I'll keep fighting to reopen the government, mitigate the Republican-caused healthcare crisis, and protect our communities.

My full statement:
Pressley Slams Republicans for Shutting Down Government, Creating Healthcare Crisis (1/2):

“This Republican-manufactured shutdown is threatening the lives and livelihoods of millions of families by ripping away essential healthcare, gutting federal jobs, and cutting the critical services that are a lifeline for our communities.

“Donald Trump and his Republican co-conspirators continue to demonstrate contempt for the people and advance harmful policies that make people hungrier, poorer, sicker, and less safe. Pressley Slams Republicans for Shutting Down Government, Creating Healthcare Crisis (2/2)

“As duly elected Members of Congress, it is not only our duty, but our obligation, to make life better for the people we serve.

“Instead, Republicans have shamefully pushed the country into a dangerous government shutdown, and our constituents deserve better.

“I refuse to accept this future as an inevitability, and I will continue to fight to reopen the government, keep essential services running, mitigate the Republican-caused healthcare crisis, and center the dignity, humanity, and safety of folks in the Massachusetts 7th and across the country.”

The government is officially shut down. Make no mistake: Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. This is THEIR shutdown. They had every tool to govern and chose chaos instead. The American people are the ones paying the price.

Here are three more factual statements:

1. 25,000 of Mike Johnson's constituents are about to lose health care

2. 27,000 more are about to have their premiums skyrocket.

3. A 60 year old couple in his district would pay $19,000 more a year.

STEPHANOPOULOS: The Democratic proposal is designed to prevent millions of Americans from losing their health insurance, losing Medicaid coverage, or paying higher healthcare premiums. Why are you against that?

MIKE JOHNSON: That's an absurd statement

I won’t stop pushing for a bipartisan agreement that funds our government and cancels the GOP’s health care cuts.

The Constitution requires that Members of Congress be paid, even during a shutdown.

But until government reopens, I’ve asked that my pay be withheld.
