The data doesn't suggest that. Sony for example has grown 10 points in revenue over the last decade which translates to more game sales on more titles. Quality and preference is subjective. However from a personal standpoint I agree. Today's games are trash compared to the golden age in 90s/2000s

Debug Logging Removal Impact (comparing initial to final):

emit_batch(10k): 1128ms → 149ms (debug) → 68ms

(release) = 16.6x faster 🔥

Pool allocation: 53.4µs → 54.6µs (debug) → 3.3µs (release) = 16.2x faster 🔥

dispatch_batch: <1µs (SO FAST it's unmeasurable in release!)

Upgrading our engine's test system: compile v_engine.dll once from 40 .cpp into objs, then link it to unit, integration, and bench test modules. Now supports benchmarks, integration demos and CLI tools.
