We're told daily that there's absolutely no money for anything good, fiscal black holes aplenty, can't raise taxes on the rich, etc. There's always money for bombs and war, though. Predictable and depressing.
Trump is on the brink of betraying Ukraine and the UK.
Britain must lead in Europe by increasing defence spending immediately and all political parties should get round the table to make that happen.
I fear what happens if we don't take this step.

The DOGE firings have nothing to do with “efficiency” or “cutting waste.” They’re a direct push to weaken federal agencies perceived as liberal. This was evident from the start, and now the data confirms it: targeted agencies overwhelmingly those seen as more left-leaning. 🧵⬇️

One thing (among many) that annoys me when I'm scrolling is how the word 'objectively' has lost all meaning, just like the word 'literally' did a few years ago. I see it misused all the time, and it drives me up the wall (not literally).

Looking on the bright side, Trump withdrawing the US from international bodies can only be good for the world. Hopefully, NATO and the UNSC are next. We can think about them rejoining in a few decades when they've proved that they can be normal. Get their military bases out of Europe as well. 👍
