To help recover Pronghorn & Bison numbers, three #ParksCanada National Parks were established btwn 1915-1922: Menissawok NP in #SK, Wawaskesy and Nemiskam NP in #AB. All were later dissolved, but Wawaskesey is now part of CFB Suffield National Wildlife Area.

It is now possible to see more Pronghorn in a single winters day than there were on the entire Canadian prairies a hundred years ago.
The Canadian pop'n once declined to 3000- 5000 individuals , but now stands ~40K.

My only other major acrylic painting for Day 22 of the #artAdventCalendar I did this short-eared owl a few years ago now and it tuned out well, considering I hadn't used my acrylics for 20 years. The canvas is 30 inches by 15 inches.
