I have been working hard the past few days: running around collecting all the books in the English department, cataloging them, and putting them in the book room, and now separating, sorting, and inventorying grad regalia. I am tired, and it feels like every joint in my body needs to pop.

Well, we made it! One more year of seniors in the books. I got to know a fantastic group of young people, and today I said goodbye. Every year I get super emotional on graduation day. I work hard to build a community with my kids, and then at the end, I say goodbye.

My brother lives in a very rural area. Someone dumped a gorgeous dog (German shepherd or Belgian Malinois mix) on his property a few months back, and he already has multiple dogs and cats with no room for any more.

Got less than 4 hours of sleep because today was the first day of school with a whole new roster. Got a snow day tomorrow. Should I follow my body’s demand and go to sleep now, which would further destroy my sleep schedule? Or should I try to stay awake longer and go to bed at a normal time?

One thing I miss about pandemic times is the space in lines… There’s a lady so close to me that if I were to stretch, I would hit her in the face.

This is what teacher break looks like. Today I have scrubbed the blinds, windows, and window tracks and sills in the guest room and living room, dusted and moved the furniture and cleaned under it in the back half of the living room, watered some of the plants, 1/3
