I am just a pollster, standing in front of a bunch of elected Dems, asking them to lead on public opinion rather than hedge and tiptoe and moderate for fear an imaginary future backlash that will probably be manufactured by the right wing ecosystem anyway, regardless of what Dems do or don’t say.

They won't have the numbers to occupy the nation and force everyone to comply, and that's why they're engaged in such an aggressive show of force. They're hoping we all get cowed into submission and do their work of suppression ourselves.

Not an endorsement of anything that happens regarding Venezuela, but if I was Machado I would not give it to him. It’s the only real leverage she has and if she gives it to him,she then becomes the reminder that his possession of it is illegitimate. As such she would have to be memory holed.
