Be cool, hold a door, and let someone merge. Typo-ridden, ill-conceived, hardly profound, thoughts. Occasionally, I make a good point. Comms Pro, Army Vet, Faceless Bureaucrat. Standard Gov disclaimers.
People speak sometimes about the bestial cruelty of man, but that is terribly unjust and offensive to beasts. No animal could ever be so cruel as a man—so artfully, so artistically cruel. - Dostoevsky

Yeeeaahhh BUT...not everyone put that amount of stank on it.
Elon Musk on what looked like a Sieg Heil salute on inauguration day: "In fact, every politician, any public speaker who has spoken for any length of time has made the exact same gesture."

It breaks my heart to see so many people in the Federal government I know - personally - losing jobs and having their lives upended. I know public service is a calling, one that I share, and what you're going through now is truly horrible.

It started off as a causal welcome shortly after I started in Grand Rapids, grew into friendship, developed into a weekly ad-hoc get together, and is now an incubator for a full-blown project. would love it if you'd join us for the inaugural "Unfiltered: Real Stories. No Judgment.”
‘Unfiltered’ aims to create connection with real stories
‘Unfiltered: Real Stories. No Judgment.” is a storytelling event sharing authentic tales of transformation, fostering connection, vulnerability, and community.

Been thinking about Carlos a lot lately. An illegal/undocumented - select your shibboleth - immigrant who gave more to this country than many born here, made headlines repeatedly, and ran towards the danger - as a civilian - during the Boston Bombings. Yeah, been thinking about Carlos a lot.

Wife found out she's not actually allergic to cats so this thing is in my lap now. 🤷 She's a Maine Coon, 6 mth old, don't have a name yet, and, yes, she's adorable/cuddly/etc.

Please refer all questions to the people actually running this establishment, ok. I just work here.

While not unique to conservatives, something that tends to get many hardcore MAGA types up in arms is the need for "single issue" bills in Congress. While there are pros and cons that practice - or lack thereof - it will be interesting to see how many push back on this proposal for, ya know, reasons

I really wanted Brady to be good at announcing but, honestly, he just hasn't gotten better. Love hearing him on podcasts and doing studio work so maybe they should move him more that route because compared to other recent guys like Romo and Greg Olsen, he ain't cutting it.

Yup. Local news and national sports writers are the big reasons I still keep a presence there. That and I still haven't put in the energy/time to find and rebuild the following list of the ones that have maintained a dual presence. I stay away from most of the political stuff on X so it's been fine.
One thing holding Bluesky back is the dearth of local news and local reporters. Most are still posting almost exclusively on X and it's weird. At least in Dallas.

Someone close to me pointed out that it is pretty likely a substantial portion of Internet users don't have any frame of reference for the gif I used here.

First, how dare you, sir!

Second, I'm going to go out on my lawn and yell at some kids now. Sigh.
'Morning y'all and welcome to that lovely moment of existential dread where you suddenly realize it's been two weeks floating through holiday space-time and you're about to hard reenter the real world tomorrow. Your circadian rhythm is shot and your pants don't fit but you got this!

What stage of capitalism is it when unsustainable and irresponsible consumption is considered the preferable leftist position? 🤦🤷🤣
very funny that i have a quote tweet calling this “right wing bullshit” because few people can store leftovers for a week or two. “you should learn how to cook and be responsible with your money as much as that is possible” is not “right wing bullshit,” it is basic life advice.

On a whim, I went down a rabbit hole about my old neighbor in Italy from the 2000s and, turns out his stories about being a no-shit old mob guy were not only real...he was probably underselling it. Someday I'll write those stories down but not until I'm sure everyone is gone...for obvious reasons.

Look Netflix, I'm willing to tolerate commercials during a football game because it's a normal part of the viewing experience but don't get any ideas for the rest of your offerings. The other services have already ruined the streaming experience.

Never underestimate the American will to set aside their differences and come together around a common goal...especially if that common goal involves killing something threatening...I mean, we already seem to really like killing stuff but it's also threatening? Well...
Invasive 'murder hornets' are wiped out in the US, officials say
Officials said there've been no new detections of the hornet in Washington since 2021 and called that a major success.

Apparently I should've been a smartass all year. 🤷
Ok Chiefs fam, what are we thinking this week? The Browns score 14 unanswered pts so it'll be tied in the final two minutes, Mahomes will throw an INT at the 2 yd line, and KC will get a sack in the end zone for the safety to win 16-14? 🤣

Thought experiment: create an AI that's trained on nothing but SovCit literature and reasoning, then market it as a legal assistant to folks that don't trust the Government. Feels like I could at least make a bit of money for a relatively low cost because it was never gonna work anyway...lol
I mean, I'm not sure you really need a *lawyer* to do a real estate title check in jurisdictions that require lawyers for that, for instance. But writing a brief or making an oral argument is a completely different thing that isn't just a matter of putting law-sounding-words in a probable sequence.

I love that Vision Street Wear is back. So look, we all need a little light in our lives right now and if you happen to see a short, balding, slightly tubby guy in his late 40s walking around West Michigan looking like he just rolled out of a Thrasher photo shoot, just mind your business.

The emphasis on these nominee's moral failings is the strategy to confirmation. Everyone has some level of moral failings, so humans are more inclined to forgive them. It's a distraction from the fact they're all utterly unqualified to lead these large organizations from an experience standpoint.
