Lucinda William’s eponymous 1988 album might be my all time favorite album.

Listening to this album brought me back from all-consuming rage and despair after the election. It was the first time I felt human in days.

Setting a timer for 15 min, break for 5 (no phone), set for another 15 - at which point I am usually able to focus and can extend to 30min. It feels wild to have to do this when I remember the incredible focus I had 20 yrs ago but o well.

My male cishet friend believes that homophobia is a huge part of the loneliness - there’s this tightrope of expressing enough care and love to maintain friendships but not ‘too much,’ not in the ‘wrong way.’ Even for men that know it’s all bs, or are queer themselves, it’s exhausting.
