Think of this one every time I stumble across Castaway on TBS.

I’ve never seen How Green Was My Valley and that’s my loss I’m sure. But how the Academy gave Best Supporting Actor to Donald Crisp over this horse in The Lady Eve is beyond me. A travesty! #TCMParty

Two handsome undercover/plain clothes cops in a crowded bar in Akira Kurosawa’s High and Low. They’re both wearing Hawaiian shirts. That man really likes whales! I mean really likes whales. There’s a lot of whale facts and whaling facts and ocean facts. The writing is as engrossing and hypnotic and entrancing as everyone has always said. I’d been intimidated by it for so long …

Block of text from review, which reads: At one point, Llewyn loses his cool when Mrs. Gorfein tries to sing Mike’s part in a song. There’s no question that Mike was irreplaceable to Llewyn (he’s lost without him), but I do wonder what it would’ve sounded like if he had let Mrs. Gorfein go ahead and sing. It certainly wouldn’t have sounded the same to him, and may not have been very good, but what were her reasons for wanting to perform it? She was not on stage, nor was she recoding in album. She wanted to sing for the sake of singing, and for the sake of remembering Mike. Llewyn had trapped himself in an impenetrable state of mourning, one that suppressed his ability to authentically create, but perhaps its most destructive side-effect was that it impeded his ability to appreciate as well. In this case, his emotions got the better of him, and he stopped her from celebrating the life of their mutual friend – something she was likely doing from a place of pure intention, both for Mike, and for Llewyn.

Starts off so great, right from jump has you wanting to know what’s happening: Who’s Marley? Why’s he dead? Was there a question whether or not he’s in fact dead? That’s a lot of signatures? There’s a chief mourner? What’s going on here anyway?
The first page of A Christmas Carol with the chapter title “Stave One: Marley’s Ghost”: Marley was dead, to begin with. There is no doubt whatever about that. The register of his burial was signed by the clergyman, the clerk, the undertaker, and the chief mourner. Scrooge signed it.
