if the place I work hadn’t had a longstanding relationship with one of our carriers we would have been flying completely blind on all of this shit, and even so it can feel like we’re flying half-blind at times.

tariffs on metals and shit are wild if you don’t send like 5 additional forms with extra info, you could have copper making up 5% of the weight but the tariff would get applied on 50% of the full weight without the paperwork. It leads to ludicrous duties like that!!

The impression I got was that nobody at any carrier ever thought the de minimis thing would ever actually get repealed, it would just keep getting kicked down the road, so nobody did anything to prepare and then it was gone.
