Oh, wait. I remember. The civil rights-driven integration of schools triggered a White Flight, which sucked away the tax base, compounding the poverty of those left behind. Yet Dems have revitalized cities, despite constant Republican victim-blaming.

Yes. This is not 1930s Germany—or Czechoslovakia where ethnic Germans were pressed into service. There were many young draftees who could credibly claim, "We didn't know" (to use the words of my former neighbor). Today, what is not blatantly obvious is easily known with a few clicks. No excuse.
