What the first trailer for The Force Awakens was to a general audience, the first trailer for Patlabor EZY is to me.

@100yenlife.bsky.social Question for y'all: I'm planning to make the trek up from Portland sometime in the next month or so to spend a full Satuday at gamecenter. Very excited! Any word on a liquor license anytime soon? I'd love to be able to nurse an Asahi while playing.

I think about the time that YMO played on Soul Train at least once a month.

For my money, "Dallas" may be the best song anybody's ever written about Texas. RIP to the finest man to ever stride out of Lubbock.

Among the many other things I could say about the awesomeness of Rob Reiner: every second of The Bear S4 featuring him and Edwin Lee Gibson felt like a completely different, more entertaining show.

Street Fighter movie looks dicey, but all will be forgiven if that car destruction scene ends with a cameo from the Final Fight "Oh God! My car!" guy.

I erred so profoundly in exposing my daughters to Toaster Strudels BEFORE Pop-Tarts. When I introduced Pop-Tarts they could only look at me with a quizzical "Fuck is this shit?!" expression.

Hamster sticking Tokyo Wars on the Switch brings the system one game closer to my surprisingly viable dream of seeing the console become a pocket late 90s arcade. DO PROP CYCLE NEXT YOU COWARDS.

Y'all, I know two hours is a big time commitment, but this panel I arranged and hosted last month is one of the most important things I've ever done for video game history. The launch of the NES is a crazier story than most people realize, and my guests were extremely generous with their memories.

The funniest possible outcome would be Mamdani winning but appointing Curtis Sliwa to some kind of city position, preferably one in which he could take care of street cats and talk shit about Andrew Cuomo all day. Two things he's very passionate about.

Listen make all of the King of Hill jokes you want but Land of Make Believe fucking rips and you could not ask for a better live album to find in the 99 cent bins at Half Price Books. RIP Chuck Mangione.

My 5-year-old daughter keeps demanding that I show her a Godzilla movie, assuming (having watched some of the suit-on-suit fights from the Showa era) that the movies are 90 percent hot monster action. I'm not sure I have the heart to burst her bubble and reveal just how much dialogue there is.

Really jazzed about the Wizard-Magazine-in-the-90s-ass casting of the Street Fighter movie. Feels like the right vibe for the material.

I've said it once and I'll say it again: they missed out by never having Lalo Schifrin do the score for one of the Mission: Impossible movies.

Gunn’s Superman looks to be doing a lot right, but nothing more so than bringing back 70s Poster Heads. I adore 70s Poster Heads.

I know they’re advertising the Final Reckoning as the last Mission: Impossible but Tom Cruise really needs to make one more so that we can realize the dream of an all-M:I Cinematrix grid.
