For some reason Brookfield Asset Management always gets left out of this - they gave $250 million USD to the purchase of X/Twitter.
It was run by Mark Carney at the time, who is now Canada's Prime Minister.

Wow, has this post ever triggered some people. Below I will post some corrections and clarifications about the Brookfield-Twitter purchase.

It's long and boring, but there is a point, which is that our PM seems to be invested (in a blind trust) in Brookfield, which seems to be invested in X. 1/33
For some reason Brookfield Asset Management always gets left out of this - they gave $250 million USD to the purchase of X/Twitter.
It was run by Mark Carney at the time, who is now Canada's Prime Minister.

Good news. While invading another country is unlawful, collective self defense is lawful under Art 51 of the UN Charter.

And in my view what is considered "proportional" could be pretty high / extreme where the invader is the most powerful military on earth.

Everyone needs to keep records, and teach one another how.

Virtually all those "immunities" of South-Central America were later overturned.

well, he could collapse the trust and sell all the shares. Or just the unethical shares, and then make a new blind trust. He could then assure Canadians that he derives no benefit from a company like X, and his decisions are truly free from personal bias.
I mean, is it going to hurt someone's soul to sell a few stocks without realising every scrap of profit that could be generated from that investment? 32/33

He is the beneficial owner. I don't do that kind of law, but if a wealthy client came to me and said, "I have my investments in a blind trust, but I'm concerned some of them are unethical, what can I do?" I'm pretty sure I could find someone to solve that problem for them.
