Explore impactful policy instruments 🛠️ and success cases of large emissions reductions 📉 across four sectors from our recent @science.org paper using our Climate Policy Explorer (lnkd.in/dkgv_F4a). All data can be downloaded from the dashboard. E.g. UK's rapid electricity sector decarbonization:
The screenshot taken from the Climate policy Explorer dashboard shows the counterfactual plot of UK's rapid electricity sector decarbonization on the left-hand side and corresponding policies on the right-hand side.

I presented our paper on clean innovation and policy mixes (with @technolowicz and others) at the Verein für Socialpolitik Annual Conference last week in Cologne. The conference was truly great! #VfS_Conf2025 @vfsecon.bsky.social

I really enjoyed participating in the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists' (#AERE2025) Summer Conference for the first time last week, presenting my paper on double machine learning (#DML) & electricity market decarbonization (joint work w/ Nicolas Koch & @philippbach.bsky.social)

I love all of these, though I'm not sure I'd use any of them if I were just introducing someone to causal methods. Here are a few I find myself recommending a lot:

Folks are asking for resources for learning about causal inference.
Here is a comprehensive reading list since no one address all issues —
What is causality?
When is a causal relationship is knowable?
How to infer causal relationships given from noisy and limited data?

🆕Evaluation of #climatepolicy over 2 decades: A global PIK study of 1,500 #climatepolicies, published in the journal Science, shows most failed to cut emissions. Only 63 cases saw a 19% average reduction. The key? Tax & price incentives in smart policies.
